There’s nothing we love more than individual style shown by our favorite fashionistas here at MEFeater. Being creative with fashion embodies everything style is meant to be about. While you don’t always get to see these underrated fashionistas we are here to bring them into the forefront of fashion!
Who’s your favorite fashionista? Find our contact details below, let us know who you love, and don’t forget to use the hashtag ‘MEFPicks.’ ?
Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee Ellis Ross is one of our queen fashionistas here at MEFeater and with one look at her past work, you’ll see why too. While Tracee herself is certainly not under-appreciated, the team felt her style was. The Black-ish actress uses her time on red carpets and even on the street to use fashion in a really brilliant way.
Example numéro un: The 75th Golden Globe Awards. Tracee wore a Marc Jacobs ensemble that created a lot of controversy at the time it first showed on the catwalk. You can read more about that here but it really wowed when the Times Up activist walked the Globes’ red carpet. THIS is how you use fashion appropriately.??

Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith had the year of his life in 2017. The famed Smith kid is carving his own career out and is smashing it. An entrepreneur, with his Just Water company, and singer, having released his album Syre. While he’s all those things, he’s also a serious contender amongst all the guys on any given red carpet. Jaden knows how to use fashion too, the best designers and always sticks to his own, workable style. Slick. ??

Emma Watson
Emma Watson is another woman who owns her style. It’s quintessentially British, like the actress herself, and she really doesn’t conform to passing trends. Watson knows what looks elegant on her and as many a fashionista would say, it’s effortless. You can expect to see a unique outfit if Emma is ever expected at an event or red carpet.
Watson is also very vocal about societal issues such as racism, white privilege, the Times Up & Me Too movements. Do yourself a favor, follow her Instagram account here.

Rasheeda
Rasheeda’s Instagram handle is ‘rasheedadabosschick‘ and tbh, she definitely is a BOSS. Most of you will know her from the TV show Love & Hip-Hop but did you know she’s, aside from being a serious rapper, a fashion designer, and businesswoman? We are fiercely jealous of her style here at MEFeater and love how she uses fashion both within her own style and when at work. She regularly posts outfit pictures to her Instagram.

Priyanka Chopra
Tipped to be one of Meghan Markle‘s bridesmaids at the royal wedding in May, Priyanka Chopra was listed amongst Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2017. Being an ambassador for Unicef is just one of her achievements as she’s most well known as an actress in the series Quantico at the moment. Priyanka was the first South Indian woman cast as the lead of an American drama series.
Priyanka Chopra has also been voted one of the most beautiful women in the world …several times.

Janelle Monae
We’re still feeling Janelle’s Dolce and Gabbana look from the GRAMMY Awards last weekend and the amazing introduction she gave to Kesha’s performance. A fierce advocate for equal rights and feminism etc., she’s also no stranger to slaying on the red carpet whenever she appears.
“We come in peace, but we mean business.” – Monae on the Times Up movement.

Keyshia Ka’Oir
Keyshia Ka’Oir has been on the radar a long time now but even more so since her marriage to the one and only Gucci Mane. Did you see her wedding gown? It was sensational! Keyshia is well-known for her days as a video vixen but launched the very successful line of Ka’Oir Cosmetics back in 2010. Keyshia is a lady who knows how to represent! The brand has endorsements from the likes of Teyana Taylor and Trina.

Monica
Monica Brown was quite really born to sing, having joined a choir as a young child, and she’s one woman who is still knocking it out of the park. As well as being all that, she’s an established producer and actress. Brown is another fashionista who has stood true to her style all these years and you could be forgiven for saying she serves some black girl magic on a daily basis. She is one hot momma.??

D.R.A.M.
You’ll get it hard to find another rapper who talks about fashion the way this Gucci enthusiast does and look damn good all the time. D.R.A.M. holds accessories close to his heart and that was never more evident than when he spoke to Vogue in an interview in 2016. One of our favorite quotes from the interview was: “I think my favorite is a nice, well put-together floral scarf because you gotta look at it like, I’m rolling it up as if it were a bandana and so the look has to be recognizable even at a small width!”

Aleali May
Aleali May is a well-known stylist and creative within the entertainment and music industry. She boasts clients such as 21 Savage, Lil’ Yachty, Kendrick Lamar, and Tinashe. Aleali has a fierce personal style and embarks upon her work with the same vigor as she does her own streetstyle. In the Autumn of last year, May set out to create with Nike and their Jordon brand on a collaboration which was set to be wildly successful.
