In late 2023, Shahidi was named the global ambassador for Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest women’s fragrance, “Gaultier Divine“. The Eau de Parfum women’s fragrance is a combination of gourmand, marine, and floral notes. It features a blend of white flowers, lilies, and creamy whipped meringue, with a hint of salty sea breeze.
The top notes consist of calypsone, bergamot, and berries, while the heart notes include lily, ylang-ylang, and jasmine. The base notes, which are the most important, contain meringue, patchouli, and musk. In other words, the offering features the marriage of two contrasting fragrance families into one bold-meets-light scent that anyone could love. The beauty of the fragrance can be attributed to its creator, renowned perfumer Quentin Bisch.
In an October 2023 interview with FQ Magazine, Shahidi spoke about what celebrating femininity via the fragrance feels like.
“I think what made me so excited to join forces with the Gaultier family is that Divine is about womanhood being very wide, expansive, and inclusive,” the actress told the publication. “I think it is a call to this really large and plural community, and I love for femininity to be something that we get to make our absolute own.”
Moreover, this bold scent not only allows Yara to usher in a new era of her femininity, but also allows that you don’t have to follow “the rules” to do it.
