“Queen Sugar” created by director Ava DuVernay focuses around three Bordelon siblings in Louisiana played by Lyen Garnder, Rutina Wesley and Kofi Siriboe.
After their father’s death the siblings must put aside their lives and come together to fix the family’s struggling sugar cane farm.
The season 2 premiere episode “After the Winter” directed by Kat Candler snagged 2.3 million viewers and a 2.09 rating among women 25-54. This makes the premiere of “Queen Sugar” season 2 the highest rated episode in series history across key demos.
