The mother figures in our lives have done so much for us. They’ve raised us, provided for us, and, most importantly, loved us. Every year, you take your mom out to lunch or dinner to celebrate, but this year, it’s time to switch it up! This year, find some Mother’s Day activities that the mom in your life will actually enjoy!
When was the last time you saw your mom having pure fun? For this Mother’s Day, schedule something your mom will remember for years to come. Whether she loves the outdoors or prefers to have a night in, there is something your mom will appreciate. Here are five Mother’s Day activities to plan for the moms in your life!
1. Go hiking.
If your mom loves nature or is an outdoorsy gal, consider taking her hiking for Mother’s Day! Not only will she love the gesture, but she will have a great time. Do Mom a favor and remember to pack water, snacks, and towels. Remember, it’s an activity for her; don’t make her do extra work!
2. Take Mom on a shopping spree.
Every year, you ask your mom what she wants for Mother’s Day, and she says she doesn’t need anything. Well, this year, she can’t get out of it! A shopping spree is the perfect Mother’s Day activity and can double as a gift. Just pick her up and take her to the mall, give her a budget, and let her run wild!
3. Set up a picnic.
If you are looking for something quick and simple to do for Mother’s Day, a picnic might be your best option. You can set up in your backyard or a park near you. Head to the store and get the mom in your life her favorite snacks and foods, such as chips, fruit, or sandwiches. Grab a couple of blankets and enjoy the afternoon with each other.
4. Create a time capsule.
This year, plan something for your mom that she can enjoy years down the road. Grab some of your best childhood memories and make a time capsule. Not only is this an activity you can do together, but it may also serve as a trip down memory lane! Purchase some decorations and a box, and then spend time decorating it. Then, insert anything important to your childhood and the present day. Remember to set an expiration date and put a reminder in your phone.
5. Have a spa day.
If there are multiple women in your life you would like to honor, a spa day is the perfect idea! Schedule an appointment if there is a local spa for you that your mom(s) love. However, if the women in your life love a chance to stay at home, you can set up some at-home spa activities. Purchase a couple of face masks, bathtub essentials, foot baths, and candles, and you have the perfect Mother’s Day activities!
