Less than a month ago, Belgian designer Raf Simons was confirmed as the new creative director at Calvin Klein. It is no wonder the German sneaker giant, Adidas agreed with the American brand in trusting Simons to modernize Adidas all-time favorites.
Another promising collaboration for the German label –Simons recently unveiled his new 80s-inspired Fall 2016 collection. Aside from his favorite Stan Smith shoe, Simons introduced a Velcro strapped version (the Stan Smith Comfort) and the Matrix Spirit, reminiscing the Adidas’ 1984 Spirit basketball shoe, in high and low-top, all of them infused with vibrant mulberry, red and cerulean.
The youthful cult sneakers were previously presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week early this year. The collection will hit Adidas concept stores and select boutiques, as well as retailers like Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus and SSENSE by the end of this month with prices ranging from $330-$415 USD- nothing but days in the sun for the former Christian Dior creative director.
