Last we heard of Kid Cudi, he was in rehab conquering his demons. Today, he is rumored to be working on an album with Kanye West. But wait, weren’t they just… beefing?
On September 14, 2016 Cudi tweeted “I need y’all to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know I’m bout to crush their entire existence,” Furthermore, he tweeted:Â “everyone thinks they’re sooo great. Talking top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” referring to Kanye West, his former G.O.O.D Music label mate.
The cause of the Twitter rant is unknown, but we can assume their differences arose in 2013 when Cudi parted ways with the G.O.O.D Music label. Although he left the label, him and Kanye’s musical collaborations didn’t die there. Kanye sought Cudi out for his creativity on his latest studio album, The Life of Pablo.
In response to Cudi, Kanye, at his show in Tampa, Florida, paused the performance to rant on about Kid Cudi and the rap game, ending with “respect the God!” The blasphemous rants he is especially known for.
I’m actually excited to hear that they have put their differences aside to work on new music. A couple of weeks ago they were spotted in Japan with Coodie Rock and Takashi Murakami. They are the visual artists behind Kanye’s Graduation album cover.
Apart from knowing this special project is set to drop in December, more details have not been disclosed. If Kanye is visiting his “Graduation” ties for this collaboration, we can expect whatever he’s working on to be phenomenal. And for Kid Cudi to announce “we’re talking about bringing in the new year with a bang!” means we are in for a nice surprise worth the wait. The big question we all have that needs answering is who should we expect on this new project that’s hitting us out of nowhere.
Are you excited? Let us know!
