Harvard is not ready for these two, powerful, black women to attend their University.
Yara Shahidi, the spectacular actress from “Black-ish” is officially headed to Harvard with Malia Obama in September.
Shahidi posted on Instagram on June 6th of her rocking a Harvard sweatshirt with the caption, “The paradox of education is precisely this ― that as one begins to become conscious, one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated. ~James Baldwin”.
Obama committed to Harvard University last year, and decided to defer for another year, so she will be attending this coming September.
Shahidi is considering taking a gap year and said, “So to have a year to focus on work and to focus on specified interests will be nice. Before I pick a career and choose what I want to study and my life path.”
Michelle Obama wrote Shahidi college recommendation letters.
Shahidi plans on double majoring in Sociology and African-American Studies.
