If you keep up with Rihanna, you can probably tell that she a gained a few happy pounds since her last tour. Rihanna has always been the poster child for a model-esque stature, so when she came out sporting some thicker thighs the blogs went crazy as they naturally do.
Rumors started to circulate that there may be a mini Ri Ri on the way, but one site got a little out of hand with their reaction to Rihanna’s new look. A writer for Barstool Sports posted a link to a since deleted story titled “ Is Rihanna going to make being fat the hot new trend”.

I have so many things to say about this article and why the writer thought it was even appropriate to write such a piece, but I’ll save that for another conversation.
Let me tell everyone now. What we’re not going to do is bash Rihanna for gaining a couple of pounds. She continuously works her butt off to produce countless bops and poppin shoes for the pleasure of the very people critiquing her weight gain. She has worked since the age of 16 and if sis wants to gain weight during her off time, she has every right to.

Critiques on Rihanna’s changing physique just go to show how much stress is put on women reaching a certain beauty standard. *cough, cough Anglo Saxon*
Women have curves. Women gain weight. Women lose weight. At the end of the day, it isn’t anyone’s business. Rihanna is here to entertain us, who cares if she is gonna have a little more to throw around during her ‘Pour it Up’ choreography.
