Netflix has decided to reboot The Magic School Bus, the classic kid-focused cartoon that follows Ms. Frizzle and her class as they set off on field trips.
The new Netflix series, called The Magic School Bus Rides Again, once more focuses on a class at Walkerville School. Yet with the release of the new trailer, we realized that Kate McKinnon will be voicing a Ms. Frizzle, but not the Ms. Frizzle.
Lily Tomlin will reprise the role as the original Ms.Frizzle- from the 90s classic, except now the character has upgraded to a professor. Professor Frizzle passes the keys to the Magic School Bus to her younger sister, Miss Fiona Felicity Frizzle (McKinnon), who will lead the students of Walkerville School on the same wild, fun, scientific adventures that her older sibling was famous for.
The classic theme song is also back, but it’s now sung by Hamilton creator and original cast member Lin-Manuel Miranda.
