On the third floor of the Virgin Hotel in New York City, the highly anticipated Club Pink party commenced with hosts Dez (@dezordie) and Gabrielle Amani, CEO of MEFeater (@gabrielleamani). This celebration marked the second installment of the Club Pink saga, and in honor of Pride Month, it was dedicated to honoring the Iconic International House of Miyake-Mugler. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere, a standout moment took center stage – a captivating performance by members of the House right in the heart of the dance floor. As the crowd’s cameras flashed in unison, the impromptu spotlight cast its glow on the House members, who vogued with the fierceness and grace of a ballroom competition, captivating everyone present. The night was filled with boundless energy and a spirit of celebration, making it a truly unforgettable occasion for all.
Club Pink Pride was activated in the space called The Everdene. MEFeaters congregated and filled the space in their best fashions. Suits, dresses, two-pieces, and stilettos turned this party into a fashionable affair.
Upon entry, guests were given a wristband according to their ticket status and took the elevator up to the third floor. The VIP section immediately greeted guests, cornered off by velvet rope, and home to MEFeater’s special guests, the House of Miyake-Mugler, resident influencers, and special guests to the magazine.
The Everdene, a space big enough to hold an army, maintained a great ambiance and sophisticated atmosphere that heightened the grandeur of Club Pink. In addition to the original decor, there were gorgeous fluffy pink pillows for VIPs and a Barbie pink step-and-repeat for all guests to capture the moment. That was just the cusp of the attraction to Club Pink. The bar started churning out cocktails like a factory; complimentary bottles from the Virgin Hotel were given to special guests, and as the night continued to get late, more people started to pour in, overflowing into the outdoor rooftop space attached to the Virgin Hotel venue.
As the night went on, the crowd grew bigger, the dance floor began to resemble a can of sardines, and the music got louder. First up to command the crowd with a mixture of Top 40 hits & Queer and Ballroom classics was DJ Legrande Phoenix (@legrandphoenix). Calling him “good” is an understatement. Legrande’s song choices kept the guests entertained, and their energy reverberated off the walls. Legrande does more than enough to set up an alley-oop for his successor in the DJ booth, Dylan Ali (@dylanali_). “Tip, tip, tip on hardwood floors. Tens, tens, tens across the board,” the crowd yelled out. Dylan Ali wasted no time igniting a wildfire from the embers Legrande gave birth to. Ali took advantage of an already stimulated crowd and did what she does best—turned it up and turned it out!
Needless to say, Club Pink NYC will be regarded as a trailblazing Pride Month activation in June that many will regret not attending for years to come. The Iconic International House of Miyake-Mugler showing up to support, perform, and get a surprise reveal for the magazine’s 10th cover shoot was like a cherry on top of the perfect ice cream sundae.
And while many publications will follow suit next year and create a trend of introducing Ballroom houses and culture to their magazine covers, the pioneers at MEFeater Magazine have nailed what it means to be culturally relevant and correct. Club Pink has solidified itself as an emerging party saga known for curating spaces with cultural relevance and the rightful diverse reflection in attendees. The melting pot Club Pink achieves is a rare feat, and everyone loves a good sequel.
