YOUth Community Organization, also known as “YCO”, is a New York City and Long Island-based non-profit organization. It’s goal is to create productive and safe spaces where people are encouraged to reach their greatest potential. Through arts, mentorship, charity, sports, education, and more, the organization’s members are dedicated to providing a positive impact in their communities.
Most recently, they produced their collaborative “Wellness Mixer,” an event that dove deep into conversation around mental health care and how it translates in today’s society. Within the last three years of productions like this, their “Easter EGGstravaganza” and “Field Day” have become highly anticipated events amongst their supporters.
The founders of YCO are Alexa Allwood, Alyssa Allwood, and Jahnyah Roberts. They each describe their non-profit organization as “bridging the gap between the leaders of today and the leaders of tomorrow”. Additionally, their key themes are creative expression, physical health, and mental wellness. This aids in their focus areas when creating spaces where both adults and children can have a meaningful and eventful time.
All year round, the YCO team continues to give back to their community through mentorship and a variety of events. For more details on this innovative organization follow them on Instagram @you_thcommunity and visit their website: youthcom.net.
