Anime fans rejoiced yesterday after popular manga, “Hunter x Hunter” was announced to return with new chapters after a four-year hiatus. Hunter x Hunter creator, Yoshihiro Togashi made a Twitter account on Monday. He posted a photo of a manga panel with a caption that translates “4 more episodes for the time being”. Soon after the post went live, the creator of “One Punch Man”, Yusuke Marata confirmed that the Twitter account was legitimate. The tweet has amassed over 300,000 retweets and 1.3 million likes, proving that although Hunter x Hunter has been away it is still loved by many fans eager for its return.
This news is huge for fans of the series as the previous chapter was released in November 2018. The manga, which has over 79 million copies in circulation, has seen many setbacks due to Togashi’s health issues.
Hunter x Hunter is one of the most popular manga/anime series of all -time. It was a critical and financial success since its debut in 1998. The series has received two onscreen adaptations, the original anime airing from 1999-2001, and the remastered series airing from 2011-2014. The anime follows Gon Freecs, a young boy who wants to become a hunter in order to track down his long missing father. He encounters enemies and befriends a team of allies in his travels around the world.
