DUETS is the art that happens when you bring together extremely talented curators to construct a tribute to the arts.
Michael Korte’s DUETS is a song and dance tribute featuring a variety of musical collaborations. Michael Korte, along with Ashley Everett (yes, Queen Bey’s #1 dancer) and musical director, Jared Jenkins, joined forces to create DUETS, “a story of love and inclusion bursting with swag and grace.”
DUETS is a thrilling video filled with powerful vocals and animated dance moves that forces the watcher to be warped into their world of passion. You will be enticed by the singing and the dancing in the video. The singers made the song their own and the dancers creatively matched the movements to the lyrics. DUETS is an artistic concept that you will have to see to get the full effect of.
When talking with Micheal he spoke of the challenges he faced while making the project, “The most difficult part was making sure I could do justice to these wildly talented singers and dancers. Picking songs that sat well in the pockets of our vocalists and songs that allowed the dancers to play and create with as little limits as possible.”
And justice definitely was served in this video! The project was choreographed by the dancers in the video and besides ‘Scream’, every other song featured on DUETS was made with original choreography.
“We’re so proud of this work! These were songs with no correlation, and with the exception of ‘Scream’ this was all original choreography. We found a way to mesh it all together into a cohesive piece. We’re all grateful for that achievement,”- Michael Korte.
