Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is an annual accolade presented by Multichoice where they recognize outstanding achievements in television and film in Africa. The inaugural Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards ceremony was held in Lagos, Lagos State in Nigeria on March 9th, 2013, and was broadcast live in more than 50 countries.
THE BUZZ
On Saturday, May 14th Multichoice hosted another AMVCA show at Eko hotel and suites in Lagos and the night was all about fashion, talent, and all the glitz and glam you could ever dream of! The eighth edition of the awards had celebrities all dressed in their best ensembles as some received accolades from their fans, while others were dished negative words. One of the biggest controversies on the internet right now is Erica Ngozi-Nlewedim’s dress which was reportedly extremely expensive and shipped all the way from Poland, a gorgeous European import.

When it comes to award shows and or high society events, the public is often involved in deciding the best and worst dressed, motivating the attendees to look their best. Bonang Matheba, known in South Africa as the queen of the red carpet, always comes to the show and pulls out all the stops. Bonang dazzled the stage in 4 gorgeous high fashion ensembles designed by Nigerian designers Sheyeoladejo, House Of Dova, 2207 By TBally, and The Sevon Dejana Brand as she co-hosted the MVCAs alongside Nigerian producer and TV host, Ik Osakioduwa.
