Aaron Ehasz, former lead writer for Avatar: The Last Airbender, Justin Richmond, director of Unchained 3, and Justin Santistevan, a former head of Finance for research and development, has created Wonderstorm a television and game studio.
With this studio, the trio is now in a partnership with Netflix to produce a Netflix original animated series that will be released in late 2018. Along with creating an original animated series for Netflix, Wonderstorm will be developing an AAA video game in the same universe, but unrelated to the Avatar franchise. Furthermore Giancarlo Volpe, one of ATLA’s main directors who has also worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and Star vs. the Forces of Evil will be apart of this new business venture.
It has been reported that Wonderstorm’s goals for this tv series and video game are about creating a new fictional world/s with deep and broad allure. And to build a franchise across different forms of media, integrated with one another more than one might typically see.
Over at the Wonderstorm Studios they are currently working on the Netflix Original animated series and it sounds like they are focusing on having the show and game coexist.
