Every year, Nigerian fashion enthusiasts gather at the Lagos Fashion Week tents in the Federal Palace Hotel to watch some of the most talented designers showcase their spring/summer collections. It’s usually not the main runway shows that capture the essence of fashion week but street style. Fashion street stylers are always eager to put their best foot forward, experimenting with unique, eccentric, and stylish trends, labels, and designs. This year, the Lagos SS23 showgoers adorned monochromatic looks and bold colorways. The experimental fashion came into play through patterns, cuts, and textures—ruffles, fur, you name it. Tailoring & Shades Of White

Nothing says “clean gurl aesthetic” like a white outfit, and tailoring adds more to that. The flamboyant tailored suit with beaded pearls trend has obviously taken over, and we are loving it.

Monochromatic looks are usually simple looking, yet very chic! Monochromatic outfits were quickly reinstated as a high-fashion styling trick on the runways. These looks are the visual representations of what consistency looks like.

One thing that you can never take away from any garment is the manner in which it is cut, designed, and styled. Garments with ruffles, fur, and the works are always accentuated and will win at any fashion affair because sometimes, more is more.
