Class is in session! The subject is fashion, and Rihanna is our teacher. The mogul is making school cool again by putting her twist on a classic style. Just weeks after releasing her new haircare line, Fenty Hair, Rihanna launched a line of gag-worthy new kicks.
The FENTY X PUMA Creeper Phatty was launched on July 11, and she kicked it off with a star-studded campaign. For this campaign, the fashion icon tapped film star Anjelica Huston and “Euphoria” actress Chloe Cherry. The images, shot by Philippa Price, were a high-fashion take on high school. Rihanna was the “Good Girl,” Huston was the principal, and Cherry was “the emo girl.”
Additional characters include “the theater kid,” “the popular girl,” “the nerd,” and “the class pet.” Rihanna’s new Puma Creeper Phatty is sure to be the shoe that everyone will be dying to wear.
The Shoot
The latest shoot for FENTY x PUMA featured stereotypical high school characters, with each star wearing a preppy high-fashion look to match the creepers. Rihanna donned various outfits, from an oversized button-up complete with a long tie to huge plaid hair bows and skirts. She rocked the quintessential two-ponytail hairstyle. The rest of the models wore similar outfits, with Huston styled in a strict grey suit, Cherry serving heavy emo with black and blonde hair, and an edgy, dark outfit to match.

The Shoe Design
The Creeper Phatty still has the same classic mold but with brand-new colorways. The oversized design comes in red and white and solid black with black soles to match. Both pairs are wrapped in soft corduroy and suede material with gold aglets.
“Your whole school will be wearing Creeper Phatty’s, and this campaign plays with that vision,” Rihanna said in a statement via Hypebeast. “We chose these colors and materials very purposefully for back-to-school. The black-on-black corduroy reminds me of my very own childhood, a uniform-approved shoe with the twist I always wish I had.”
The drop is just in time for back-to-school, as kids are gearing up to return soon. Rihanna recently took to the streets of NYC to model the latest corduroy iteration. She styled the shoes in an edgy schoolgirl look, pairing them with an oversized blue button-up and Miu Miu pleated plaid skirt.

The FENTY x PUMA “In Session” collection is now available online and in stores and ranges from $65 to $120. The collection is available in women’s, men’s, big kids’, little kids’, and toddler sizes. Leave it to Rihanna to create a line with inclusivity in mind.
