Megan Thee Stallion has filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court for a restraining order against Tory Lanez. Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting her in 2020. Despite his incarceration, Megan alleges that Lanez continues to harass her through third-party surrogates. She claims he is orchestrating attacks on her credibility via bloggers spreading false claims about the case.
Allegations of Continued Harassment
In her petition, Megan asserts that Lanez has been coordinating harassment efforts from prison, utilizing intermediaries to disseminate defamatory information. One such individual is blogger Milagro Gramz, who has reportedly propagated falsehoods about Megan. Phone call logs between Lanez and his father allegedly discuss payments to Gramz for her participation in these harassment activities.
Expiration of Previous Protective Order
Megan’s previous protective order against Lanez has expired, leaving her vulnerable to further harassment. She describes this lapse as a flaw in the criminal justice system, emphasizing the need for continued protection to prevent ongoing psychological distress and reputational harm.
Scheduled Court Hearing
A court hearing regarding the restraining order is scheduled for January 9. Megan seeks to prevent Lanez from contacting or harassing her, directly or indirectly, through any means, including third parties. Lanez’s representatives have not publicly responded to these recent allegations.
Megan’s Reflections on the Legal Battle
Earlier this year, Megan reflected on her three-year legal battle against Lanez. She described the verdict as a significant win for women and herself as a survivor of both the shooting and subsequent public humiliation. She continues to face online toxicity, which underscores broader issues within the hip-hop community. These issues include the reluctance of Black victims to speak to police and the imperative of protecting Black women.
