Lingerie brand ‘Victoria’s Secret’ has announced one of its Angels, Lais Ribeiro, will be the next model to wear the themed ‘Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra’ at the VS Fashion Show 2017. The model has worked with VS since 2010.

Now that you’ve seen the diamonds, can you guess how much its worth? The Fantasy Bra which holds a big legacy in the Victoria’s Secret world is worth a whopping $2 million. The annual VS Show which will show in Shanghai for 2017, revealed at a dinner earlier in the week in NYC that Lais, a Brazillian model, will walk the runway wearing the most luxurious item Victoria’s Secret give their Angels to show off.
Designed by Mouawad Jewelry, 2017’s Fantasy Bra took 350 hours to create. The piece is made of diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz set in 18 karat gold. It weighs more than 600 carats. 27-year-old Ms. Ribeiro is only one of four women of color to have worn the Fantasy Bra in the show’s history. Just last year, Jasmine Tookes took the honor for 2016 while the first black woman, Tyra Banks, to sport it was back in 1997.
Speaking ecstatically of the bestowment, Lais told Vogue: “I had no idea that [the fitting] was for the bra. I came in and when I tried it I cried, it was unbelievable.” The model also told the press “it’s the biggest thing in my career right now. Of course, we hope, but we never know because there’s so many of us, and we all work so hard. And I’m thankful and honored to be one of them now.”
