Kiersey Clemons is not an household name, but she’s about to be. The 24- year- old actress is teaming up with AGC, who has secured the rights to Lauren Simmons’ life story as the youngest Wall Street trader.
This will be Clemon’s first breakout lead role, the actress has limited credits including Dope and Neighbors 2. Clemons has recently received high praises for Sundance film Hearts Beat Loud.
The indie film will definitely bring Clemon’s career to new heights. The actress is set to star and produce the film. This will be the feature debut on her production company, Girl on Mercury. Her longtime managers Eddie Galan and Star Andreef are also helping her produce the film.
In addition to Lauren Simmons being the youngest female trader to work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, she is also the second African American woman to work full time at the NYSE. She had to pass a difficult Series 19 exam, with a success rate of only 20 percent, in order to obtain the position.
Clemson will add this to the list of projects she has coming out including Disney’s CGI and live remake of “Lady and the Tramp” and Fox TV’s live broadcast of “Rent.”
