With the pandemic beginning more than a year ago, we all had a lot of time to reflect on the direction we wanted our lives to go. The pandemic brought a time of sadness and hardship that no one saw coming. However, it birthed a new era of creativity and hidden talent. It opened up spaces for those who didn’t have any before. The quarantine(s) allowed for time to build, plan, and strategize.
A new dawn was coming. Since the coming year, many new innovative designers have been elevating to the status of major designers.
With social media being our escape and way to connect with one another, it has granted exposure to a lot of new faces with fresh perspectives and cutting edge designs. Here’s some brands you may want to keep your eye on!
Sai By Sai
Sai by Sai is the definition of where fashion meets art, but quite literally. Created by Sainabou Lowe, this designer hand paints all her clothing and specializes in making each design original and edgy. Her goal is to make every customer feel as if they are in a museum. And she does just that! Sai by Sai is an innovative brand that fashion has not seen for awhile. With authenticity and adaptability, this brand will continue to evolve over the years.
Femgar
Inspired by the hustle and bustle of New York City, Sky O’ Berry decided to create Femgar. What started as a simple sketch of a bathing suit evolved into a carefully curated collection consisting of asymmetrical pieces and unique designs. Femgar breaks barriers by taking a spin on classic designs and showcasing pieces that represent real people pushing boundaries. It’s needless to say that you should definitely add Femgar to your wishlist!
Ciara Chyanne
In December 2019, Ciara Chyanne journeyed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for her mission trip. During her time there she realized her goal was to help women and their families. With her background in designing and love for humanities she often questioned, what was her purpose of designing and would she be successful in her mission work? The result was her creating a clothing brand where she could donate some of her profits from the brand to the Cherok’s project. Since then she has used the art and beauty around her in Ethiopia to create her, New Flowers Collection. Ciara says that “flowers are an inspiration…because it represents life and death.” Also saying that her grandmother constant creativty was another muse for the brand as well. With the combination of bright colors and chic pieces, Chyanne’s clothes serve as a great combination of beauty and grace. If you’re interested in finding out more about Chyanne and her dedication to the her mission, you can read her stories in her journal entries available on her site.

With amazing customer service and great consideration of what her audience wants, Myuu continues to curate classy pieces. Each piece she debuts all seem like they have story behind them.
