Cupcakke Confirmed Safe by Police After Unsettling Tweet

Elizabeth Harris was hospitalized last night after tweeting about suicide.

Last night Chicago-based rapper, CupcakKe posted a concerning tweet and Instagram post about taking her own life. CupcakKe has been accounted for and her safety has been confirmed by the Chicago Police Department, BBC reports.

On January 8, the 21-year old rapper shared a tweet “im about commit suicide” later sharing the tweet on Instagram captioning it with, “Thank you for everything y’all have done for me, I really appreciate it.”

CupcakKe has previously spoken about depression and thoughts of suicide in between her albums Eden and Euporize.

Her close friend Elijah Daniel was one of a number of people who asked the Chicago Police Department to check on Cupcakke, and was tweeting updates to reassure fans.

“Officers went out a few times to check on Elizabeth,” Chicago Police Department told Radio 1 Newsbeat.

“Once they got in touch with her, they took her to hospital – not for her injuries – but for a mental evaluation.”
