If you were asleep or not tuned into CBS last night, you most likely missed a lovely performance by Chance The Rapper and Daniel Caesar. It’s a quiet and sincere unreleased song. Chance raps his first verse about his precious daughter while Caesar strums a slow guitar rhythm. With gorgeous humming by a choir, he reminisces his past with second verse and envisions his future with the third. The hook is assisted by background vocals from Daniel Caesar, who released his debut last month. It was stated that Chance performed this song just a couple days after its creation. Chance and host Stephen Colbert are quite familiar with each other as this is Chance’s fourth appearance on The Late Show.
Chance was also interviewed by Colbert earlier in the show. He spoke about the condition of Chicago Public Schools and how he isn’t interested in running for mayor. Watch below:
