#IWokeUpLikeThis: Elevate Your Haircare Game With Beyonce’s New CÉCRED Line

Get ready to wake up to a glorious mane after treating your hair to Beyoncé’s new haircare line, CÉCRED. Her devoted Beyhive has been waiting with bated breath since May 2023, when the singer teased the new venture. For Beyoncé, hair has been deeply intertwined with her life, starting from her childhood days.

“I grew up sweeping hair in my mother’s salon,” said Beyoncé in a statement on the CÉCRED website. “So much of who I am came from there. I saw how she transformed hair by mixing mainstream products with textured haircare.”

This project is undoubtedly a labor of love for Beyoncé and a venture she is deeply passionate about. Thanks to Queen Bey growing up surrounded by the beauty of Black haircare by her mother, Tina Knowles, she has poured everything into this line.

CÉCRED is a company that has been built from the ground up, spending six years in development and going through extensive testing. Haircare is sacred to Bey, hence the name. This line is her ultimate dedication to bringing her mother’s teachings to life.

The CÉCRED line features gentle and nourishing products.

Beyoncé debuted the line on Feb. 20, 2024, hosting a star-studded launch party in LA to celebrate the collection. The lineup includes everything you need to make your hair feel nourished and healthy. The eight products featured in the launch are formulated to cleanse, repair, and revitalize your hair.

The line includes the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, a Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub, a Hydrating Shampoo, a Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual, a Reconstructing Treatment Mask, a Moisture Sealing Lotion, a Nourishing Hair Oil, and a Hydrating Conditioner (coming soon).

The products are generous and gentle on the hair and are sulfate- and silicone-free. Each item contains mane-loving ingredients that include honey, fermented rice water, butters, and oils perfect for making your hair feel its best.

Social media users have fallen in love with Beyonce’s line.

Beyoncé’s journey with CÉCRED has been a long but fulfilling one.

Years of hard work have brought Beyoncé to this moment. As a Black founder, it was paramount for her to prioritize where she considered the greatest need for healthy haircare lay. She also applied the proper science and focused on product placement. Extensive focus and research helped her to create the best products possible, each serving a crucial purpose for your hair.

The “16 Carriages” singer’s ideal mission was to create something that would serve all hair textures.

“My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, colored, weaves, and wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health,” she said in a statement via ESSENCE magazine. “My vision is to be an inclusive force of excellence in the haircare industry while celebrating hair rituals across global cultures and helping dispel hair myths and misconceptions on all sides.”

Beyoncé’s CÉCRED and BeyGOOD foundation work together to give back to cosmetology students.

In addition to dropping a haircare line, Beyoncé is also giving back through her charity, BeyGOOD. The star announced a $500,000 donation in scholarships and business grants to cosmetology students and salons in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.

Every year, Beyoncé will award five cosmetology schools, including Atlanta’s Beaver Beauty Academy, with $10,000 in financial aid scholarships to 25 recipients.

Hairstylists have an immense impact on the people in their chairs,” said Beyoncé on BeyGOOD’s website. “They create a sacred space where we can show up how we want and express ourselves through our hair. We’re honored to give back to this amazing community.”

Scholarship recipients will have to be enrolled or accepted into the academy, be in financial need, and live in the specific funded areas. Applications are open until March 20, 2024.

It is always amazing to see another Black-owned and woman-owned haircare line that caters to all hair textures. CÉCRED is quickly being snatched off the virtual shelves and is receiving 10s across the board. It will be interesting to see how the singer will continue to grow her hair empire, maybe even opening a CÉCRED salon. All we know is that we better get some products soon, so that we can “wake up like this” every morning, just like Bey.
