Get your coins together; festival and tour season is officially upon us.
Megan Thee Stallion is hitting the open road and taking over the summer with her Hot Girl Summer world tour! The hot girl coach took to social media on March 13, 2024, to let her fans know she’s embarking on a 31-city worldwide trek with GloRilla as her special guest. This is the lead hottie’s first-ever headlining tour in arenas around the globe, and she will be pulling out all the stops.
“HOTTIES GET READY TO COME HAVE SOME FUN WITH ME AT THEE HOT GIRL SUMMER TOUR Get your outfits ready now,” she wrote via Instagram. “We’re getting started this May I told you what cities today to get yall prepared! Check back in on the 20th for official dates I’m so exciteddddd.”
The Hot Girl Summer Tour will kick off with a bang.
The Hot Girl Summer tour, which is quickly selling out, kicks off in Minneapolis on May 14, 2024. MTS will make stops in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Phoenix, Houston, and more. Megan will also take the hot girl experience overseas, with shows in England, France, Germany, and Ireland.
Tickets for the highly anticipated tour went on sale on March 20, 2024, with multiple cities, including Houston and Los Angeles, selling out. The artist achieved a huge milestone in her career, selling out Madison Square Garden in New York City. If you didn’t already know, this is the year of Megan Thee Stallion.
In a January 2024 interview with Good Morning America, MTS talked about wanting to embark on a solo tour and give her devoted hotties the MTS summer experience they deserve.
“I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer since, like, 2019,” she said. “This is gonna be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer.”
With the Hot Girl Summer tour starting in May 2024, fans hope MTS will drop her next album this month. There has been significant buzz around the rapper’s latest singles, “Cobra” and, more recently, “HISS.” While “Cobra” addressed Megan’s struggles, “HISS” went viral and was seen as a possible diss at Nicki Minaj. The single earned her her first solo No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in February.
GloRilla joining MTS on tour makes perfect sense.
GloRilla’s career has been on the rise since 2022. With hits such as “Tomorrow 2 (feat Cardi B),” “FNF,” and “Yeah Glo!” under her belt, the Grammy-nominated star is the perfect addition to the Hot Girl Summer tour. Glo and Megan hail from The South and have an undeniable chemistry together.
To cement their partnership, the dynamic duo teased a new collaboration, “Wanna Be,” which dropped in early April 2024. The song is featured on GloRilla’s mixtape, “Ehhthang Ehhthang,” which dropped on April 5, 2024. In the video, the two can be seen wearing string bikini tops as the track plays in the background. Each girl takes turns hyping each other up, chanting phrases like “Go Meg” and “Get ’em Glo.”
The small snippet seemingly samples Soulja Boy’s popular hit “Pretty Boy Swag.” The preview went viral online, with fans begging the duo to drop it immediately.
The tour is the beginning of a new era for Meg.
In February 2024, the H-Town hottie announced that she had inked a distribution deal with Warner Music. Megan is now an independent artist, free from her contract with 1501 Ent. and 300. Her partnership with the music group is groundbreaking and allows her access to WMG’s services, including music promotion and worldwide marketing. Another huge perk of the deal is that she retains ownership of her masters and publishing.
“This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter of my life and career,” Megan said in a statement via Billboard. “I’m really focused on building an empire and growing as an entrepreneur, so I’m proud to take this next step in my journey and work with Max Lousada and the entire Warner Music Group team in this new capacity. I know we’re going to create history together.”
Megan’s Hot Girl Summer tour is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated of the year. That said, with a possible album drop looming, Meg is bringing the heat. Hotties, grab your tickets and start planning your outfits now! The Hot Girl Summer Tour is coming to a city near you.
