Overlooking NYC from the Public Hotel’s rooftop, Marrisa Wilson debuted a vibrant collection rich with injections of the designer’s rich Caribbean culture.
Titled “of many waters,” the collection is influenced by the natural beauty of Guyana – ripe with lush rainforests and trips down the river.
DJ Vicky Casis spun some excellent soca & dancehall tunes setting the island vibe for showgoers ahead of the show.
Models wore intricately beaded, braided, and fluffed hairstyles which amplified the authentic representation of Caribbean fashion.
The weather in NYC may have been moody and misty, but the collection lit up the sky.
Collection standouts were this excellent maritime-themed suit, the palm print pants set, and the surprisingly neutral netted slip dress.
The designer herself cited the zig-zag dresses (paired together for the runway) as her personal favorites from the collection.
