2022 has undoubtedly been one of Bella Hadid’s biggest years. The 26-year-old Palestinian-Dutch model has been at the forefront of multiple fashion weeks as well as campaigns. Notably, Hadid made headlines when a French womenswear brand, Coperni, sprayed a dress on her body on the runway for their spring/summer 2023 show. Not only was that one of the most viral moments this year, but it was also a new concept executed by a designer at the event.
Bella Hadid’s Year Recap
Having watched Bella’s career blossom a few years ago, one can’t help but be inspired. She has fiercely represented multiple brands on the runway. Bella kicked off 2022 with Versace’s spring/summer 2022 campaign, for which she was photographed with her supermodel sister, Gigi Hadid, in January.
In February, the supermodel walked in 10 shows alone as fashion month kicked off, including the poignant Off-White show that kicked off Paris Fashion Week and featured the couture-like pieces founder Virgil Abloh had been working on before his untimely death from cancer in November 2021. Then, as fashion season peaked in March, she walked for Burberry, Givenchy, Ludovic de Saint-Sernin, Ralph Lauren, Coperni, Isabel Marant, Sacai, and Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood.
In April, Bella’s year got even bigger as Vogue unveiled her as their April cover star. Bella opened up about her life off the runway, including her battles with depression, anxiety, and Lyme disease. She continued to excel in her career despite publicly discussing her depression. She has continued to shine from May until now, working with multiple brands on campaigns. Balenciaga x Adidas’ collaboration has been one of the biggest, especially after it has been in the news a lot in the past few days following the Balenciaga scandal.
Bella Hadid rounded off her successful year with a win at the Fashion Awards. She was named Model of the Year at the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. This is one of the biggest nights of the year on Britain’s industry calendar. Bella didn’t make it to collect her award in person. We hope 2023 is going to be yet another interesting year in Fashion, especially for this Model Of The Year.
