Category 5 Hurricane Irma has Puerto Rico and Florida in its path after reeking havoc on a few Caribbean islands.
What is said to be one of the strongest storms recorded in the Atlantic, the hurricane has so far destroyed parts of Antigua, St. Maarten, Anguilla and other Caribbean islands.
Irma is expected to be near the British Virgin Islands and northern US Virgin Islands with the storm’s center (the most dangerous part) to pass near or just north of Puerto Rico on Wednesday afternoon or night.
Forecasters have warned that it could turn toward Florida over the weekend, and officials there are ordering some evacuations and shutting down schools.
A state of emergency has since been declared and residents are urged to leave Florida, if they can, or seek shelter.
This is the second Hurricane to fit the Atlantic in the past two weeks. Residents in Houston are now in the process of recovering from Hurricane Harvey which devastated the city.
