So, the word is out that Men in Black is headed back to the theaters. Deadline has reported that the franchise has a release date for May 27th, 2019. The film has yet to be titled. The script will be written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, writers of Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight.
There isn’t much on this mysterious sequel, but Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not expected to reprise in the film. The spinoff is being produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, as well as executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Even though there are some familiar faces in the cast can this sequel live up to the original without Smith and Jones?
The Men in Black sequel comes as a surprise, because the next film was expected to be a mashup with Sony Pictures 21 Jump Street with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s. However, the idea is only being worked out in development for now.
