Nourie
Birthed by CEO and founder Osahon Ojeaga, Nourie is a patent-pending, plant-sourced, sustainable braiding hair brand void of harsh chemicals. Like many of us, Ojeaga experienced scalp irritation from braiding hair she purchased online. After contacting the company, she faced terrible customer service. As a result, Ojeaga ultimately decided to start her own hair company. Dosso Beauty
Dosso Beauty was founded in 2017 by entrepreneur Kadidja Dosso. The brand offers its notable Hypoallergenic Braiding Hair and other beauty products. In 2021, the Hampton alum was awarded $250,000 after winning Pharrell’s Black Ambition initiative contest.
Since its inception, Dosso has amassed her beauty brand into a six-figure business by creating affordable, organic, and gender-inclusive products. At an early age, Dosso believed she was destined to create an empire similar to legendary entrepreneur Madame C.J. Walker.
“What motivates me to continue to grow Dosso Beauty is the everlasting imprint that I know that Dosso Beauty will make on the beauty industry, my community, and each person that we encounter,” Dosso shared on her website.
Yummy Extensions
Yummie O stepped out on faith and launched Yummy Extensions in 2013. Although Yummie faced trials and tribulations in the development process, she didn’t let those struggles deter her from building her business. From tech queen to beauty entrepreneur, Yummie has transformed her self-named hair brand into an empire with a large online following and two brick-and-mortar locations in Dallas and Brooklyn.
