Sanaa Lathan has been casted to star in the Netflix original film, Nappily Ever After.
The 90’s movie star we all fell in love with in Love and Basketball, will now star in the lead role for Netflix Nappily Ever After. The movie is based on the best selling novel, Nappily Ever After by author Trisha. R. Thomas.
The story centers around a character named Venus Johnson who lives the perfect life with the perfect boyfriend, and the most luxurious, perfectly long straight hair.
However, after her boyfriend fails to propose to her, she strips herself of her old lifestyle. She stops attending her hair pressing services every week and instead, cuts it all off and leaves her man. Soon, Venus falls into the arms of her new barber. When Clint moves on to another woman with Venus’s old features, she can’t help, but wonder who she is and what she truly wants out of life.
If you’re a person who enjoys reading a book before seeing the movie then you have some time. Production begins this month in Atlanta.
