This summer, MEFeater ImpactHub turned ideas into action. On July 7, we launched our highly anticipated Summer Youth Immersive Program, bringing together a talented group of students for six transformative weeks of creativity, collaboration, and community impact.
Hands-On Experiences That Make a Difference
From day one, our interns were more than participants — they were creators. Over six weeks, students rolled up their sleeves and produced real-world projects in PR, media, marketing, content creation, and event production. Whether it was strategizing social campaigns, producing community events, or creating digital content for partner organizations, the ImpactHub cohort proved that young voices can drive meaningful change.
What Made This Program Unique
Unlike traditional summer jobs or internships, ImpactHub’s model is rooted in learning by doing — and getting paid to do it. Every student received a stipend for their time and talent, affirming our belief that young creatives deserve both recognition and compensation as they build their skills.

The program was also about community connections. Students worked directly with organizations like Black Girls Do Politics (BGDP) and Selena’s Gourmet, producing campaigns and events that had a real impact. Thanks to partnerships with the City of New York and the NYC Library system, participants also had free access to laptops, tablets, and lunches, ensuring that no barriers stood in the way of their creativity.
Student Voices
For many, the program was life-changing. One student reflected, “I’ve never had an opportunity like this before — where I’m actually trusted to create something that matters.” Another said, “This showed me I could turn my passion into a career.” Their experiences underscored what MEFeater ImpactHub stands for: empowerment, access, and a seat at the table for young creatives.

We also welcomed an inspiring lineup of guest speakers, who shared their journeys, insights, and wisdom with our students:
- Shannel Reed, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager at Hunter PR
- Antonie Johnson, Director of Public Relations and Founder of House Of Talent PA
- Samiyah Malik, Communications & Strategic Initiatives Manager at Black Ambition
- Selina Davis, Senior Experiential Marketing Manager at Procter & Gamble (Mielle) and Founder of Nostalgyx
- Chrissauna Vigilance, Founder & CEO of CSV New York
Their voices reminded us that mentorship and lived experience are powerful tools in shaping the next generation — and we are truly grateful for their time and commitment.
What’s Next for ImpactHub
The summer may be over, but our mission is just getting started. ImpactHub will continue hosting town halls, workshops, networking events, and youth-focused activations throughout the year, leading up to the 2025 elections and beyond.
