Rihanna, the performing artist, is back!! Yes, you are not hallucinating. The 9x Grammy Award winner took to her Instagram to announce the performance. RiH stans “The Navy” have been begging her for an album for the longest time, but the Barbados beauty has been set on focusing on her multi-million dollar business and brands, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty. So this announcement has arrived with much anticipation. The performance is sponsored by Apple Music and is scheduled to go down at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12, 2023.
On September 25, the NFL posted Rihanna’s distinctly tattooed hand, which held a football with the caption “Let’s GO.” The football league also changed its Twitter and Instagram bios to pay homage to Rihanna, reading, “National Fenty League.” Rihanna also posted the same image on her Instagram account with just a period. “We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” said NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky in a public statement.

RIHANNA’S FIRST PERFORMANCE IN 5 YEARS
This will not only be Rihanna’s first time performing at the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, but it will also be her first public performance in the last five years. This follows her rendition of “Wild Thoughts” with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the 2018 GRAMMYs. Rihanna seems to be getting her groove back on music. The singer confirmed to Vogue earlier this year that she was working on a Reggae album. A follow-up to her 2016 eighth studio album, ANTI.

Last season’s NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show saw quite a heavy artist lineup. The roster carried heavy weights and legends of the music industry, with a focus being on rap. Performing artists such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Anderson Paak took the field at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium, with a high-energy montage of songs.
