If you weren’t excited for the live action version of The Lion King already, you should be now! Donald Glover has been casted as Prince Simba and we’re super excited about it! You may know Donald from his hit FX show ‘Atlanta’ or maybe from his music career under the moniker Childish Gambino. Either way, Glover brings a new flavor to the character and here’s why he’ll make the perfect Simba.
1. He Can Sing and Rap
Is there a possibility we could get a rap verse in ‘Hapuna Matata?’ Just thinking about it, makes me excited. Donald’s flow is undeniably amazing, so just imagine what he could do with Simba musically.
2. His Acting Chops Speak for Themselves
He didn’t win the Golden Globe for ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’ for nothing. The man can act his butt off. Live action remakes are always scary because you worry about how the actor will portray such a beloved character. However, there are no worries with Glover!

The voice, the swagger, the persona, Donald Glover is Simba in human form. The casting is so perfect because he has perfect recipe to take Simba to an entire new level. He also kinda sounds and looks like the young lion already, no joke.
