Elizabeth Harris was hospitalized last night after tweeting about suicide.
Last night Chicago-based rapper, posted a concerning tweet and Instagram post about taking her own life. has been accounted for and her safety has been confirmed by the Chicago Police Department, BBC reports.
On January 8, the 21-year old rapper shared a tweet “ about commit suicide” later sharing the tweet on Instagram captioning it with, “Thank you for everything y’all have done for me, I really appreciate it.”
CupcakKe has previously spoken about depression and thoughts of suicide in between her albums Eden and Euporize.
Her close friend Elijah Daniel was one of a number of people who asked the Chicago Police Department to check on and was tweeting updates to reassure fans.
“Officers went out a few times to check on Elizabeth,” Chicago Police Department told Radio 1 Newsbeat.
“Once they got in touch with her, they took her to – not for her injuries – but for a mental evaluation.”
