Being Mary Jane Gets Cancelled

Fans will experience a heartbreaking experience as the hit BET Series Being Mary Jane says its goodbye.

On October 12, 2017, BET announced that the current fourth season of the show will be its last. The series premiered back in July 2013, scoring 7.7 out of ten stars on IMBD.

BET’s hit series plot’s consisted of an African American female journalist trying to find her place in the world. Mary Jane navigated rollercoasters with family members and friends. And of course, she had drama within her love life. Mary Jane was a character that all women could relate to in some way.

“Being Mary Jane has been a landmark series not only for BET, but for African American women around the world who saw themselves in Mary Jane, her family, friends and coworkers.” says Connie Orlando, head of BET programming.

“From the captivating storytelling, to the richly complex characters, to the powerful issues tackled on the series, we remain immensely proud. We are grateful to the cast and creators of Being Mary Jane, who have worked tirelessly to bring this world to vivid life over the past 4 seasons. We also thank the many loyal viewers whose hearts and minds were captured every week, and kept Mary Jane trending worldwide.”

She continued: “We look forward to closing out Mary Jane’s journey with a series finale that is sure to blow fans away!”

A final two-hour series finale is set to air in early 2018.
