Seven Ways to Get Your Groove Back

If Stella can get her groove back, so can you. Life can be tiring, and sometimes you need some inspiration to get you back into the swing of things. It’s important to find yourself after hard times (i.e. friend breakups, challenges at work, etc.) so you don’t experience burnout. More importantly, you need to protect your health (especially mentally). Take some time to read about the seven ways you can find yourself again and get your groove back.

1. Prioritize yourself!

It might sound selfish to others, but who cares? Take care of yourself! That means setting (and sticking to) boundaries and making time for yourself. Protect yourself and your peace, first and foremost.

2. Treat yourself!

Treat yourself to a spa day, new clothes, or a flight to a different country! Or you could treat yourself to a spa day in another country while wearing your new clothes. It’s your world, girlfriend, and we’re just living in it. The important thing is that you spend time with yourself and do things you know you’ll enjoy.

3. See a therapist.

If you have some time and money to spare, see a therapist. You can rely on friends and family through your self-discovery journey, but professional help might be better suited for you in the long run. Write down what’s been disrupting your mojo and talk it out with a therapist.

4. Go on more dates!

Whether they’re platonic, intimate, familial, or solo, go on more dates. Go to Sip ‘N Paint with your bestie or Bingo Night with your aunt. Take yourself on a date to that fancy restaurant downtown. Explore different cities and try new things once in a while.

6. Relaxation is a must.

If you’re an overachiever, you’re most likely overworking yourself. Take a moment to truly relax! Watch your favorite TV series, meditate, or take a nice soak in the tub. Do whatever you feel is soothing to you.

7. Get your money up!

And no, we’re not talking about overworking yourself at your job. If you’ve recently picked up on a hobby that is profitable, why not make something ($$$) out of it? If you like painting, consider making art on a commission. Love writing? Consider being a freelance writer. Additionally, if you’re interested in stocks, you can invest in a company (or two) and watch your stocks grow over the months.

Getting your groove back can be a lengthy, but interesting process. Once you get the rhythm of setting boundaries and focusing on yourself, the process moves quickly. By the end of it all, you’ll get your groove back and embrace the new and improved you.
