“American Ninja Warrior” host Zuri Hall is bringing to light a rarely discussed topic. The journalist recently began the process of freezing her eggs and is being candid about her journey. In the pursuit of empowering women, she spoke on the topic with “Access Daily.”

Despite feeling youthful and healthy, Hall recognizes the struggle that comes with waiting to freeze her eggs. According to Essence, the 35-year-old wishes she had begun the process in her 20s.

“You want to do it when you don’t need to because that’s where you can freeze those healthy eggs,” she stated.

Why Should I Freeze My Eggs?

Hall is freezing her eggs to prepare for the infertility that may come, but infertility is just one reason someone may freeze their eggs. As society becomes more progressive, many wait until they are older to have kids. Freezing your eggs allows you to become pregnant when you are ready. This eliminates the biological clock watch.

As women continue to improve their self-esteem and independence, the demand for long-term partnerships and marriages is declining. Many women wait for the right partner, which may take longer than expected. Freezing eggs can prevent the desire to rush, so age doesn’t affect the health of the pregnancy.

Zuri Hall is freezing her eggs to prepare for the infertility that may come, but you can prepare sooner. Freezing viable eggs is much like having a healthy pregnancy. The younger they are, the healthier they are. Even if you are unsure of your path to parenthood, it doesn’t hurt to be proactive. Freezing your eggs gives you the ability to navigate your 20s and 30s without the biological clock ticking in your ears.

Additionally, if you begin to consider single parenthood, frozen eggs can be used with sperm donations. The options for a surrogate remain as well.

Hall has earned much success in her lifetime. She is extremely career-focused and recognizes that will change once she becomes a mother. While she does not want her future child(ren) to sacrifice, she also doesn’t want to sacrifice her current career position.

The entertainment reporter also speaks to her experience going through this journey as a single woman. She makes it clear that dealing with the emotional aspect can feel isolating. Besides being single, as a Black woman, there are not many who can speak to the process of freezing their eggs.

As she progresses through her egg-freezing journey, she is taking control of her future and destiny. She is using the resources available and helping herself reach her goals. Hall is freezing her eggs because she has a plan for her future, and you can have the same too.
