Zaya Wade has long been in the public eye. With her parents by her side, she has been able to pursue many things. After coming out as trans in 2020, she has garnered support and attention from many people — including the fashion industry. Wade made her runway debut with MiuMiu in March 2023. Now, she has partnered with Puma as an ambassador, leading to her designing a shoe for the brand. Wade’s Puma shoe design focuses on some of her favorite albums of 2023 and solidifies her place in the fashion industry as a designer.

These inspirations are evident in the “Palermo” shoe design, and the influences of SZA’s “SOS” album are apparent in the shoe’s colorway. The blue and white colors can be seen in a lot of the imagery produced by the album.

The “Renaissance” inspiration is clear as well. Wade’s Puma shoe design utilizes black and silver to connect to the fashion trends of Beyoncé’s most recent album. Also, a bee is seen in the corner of the shoe to represent “BeyHive,” the name of Beyoncé’s fanbase.

Not only has Zaya Wade designed a shoe for Puma, but she is also setting trends in fashion. She is free to express herself because of the love and support she receives from her parents, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. Her fashion choices are evident, as she often posts stunning, high-fashion looks. Her style is unmatched.

The fashion industry notices it, too. Aside from walking the runway, she graced the cover of DAZED in 2023. As a result of that cover, Essence dubbed her fashion’s new “it girl.” The fashionista also starred in Puma’s “FOREVER CLASSIC” campaign.

At such a young age, Zaya Wade has accomplished so much. Overcoming public scrutiny, she has found a way to shine.
