Di$count Univer$e founders Cami James and Nadia Napreychikov’s design style is socially conscious and unapologetic. These Aussies like to express independence, individuality, and creativity through their clothes, and are very successful in these pursuits. The neon, the sequins, and the over the top graphics aren’t for everyone but these five ladies pull it off with ease; with one baddie rocking it the best.
Meghan Trainor sported a Di$count cat two-piece in her “Lips are Movin’” music video. The skirt and top pair hug her frame beautifully, and the bright pink and blue fit right into her music video. Trainor looks great in the outfit, but because of her styling, and overall more girly style Trainor finishes at a respectable fifth in this race.
Next up is King Kylie: Kylie Jenner. Her body is looking as fierce as ever in her DU evil eye bra and panty set. Jenner pairs the set with pastel, rainbow, French braids that tie the look together and land her at number four.
Sliding in at third is the music industry’s resident bad girl: Miley Cyrus. As a long time customer of DU, Miley is no stranger to the brand. She looks amazing in the red sequined body suit that she couples with DU sequined socks and some jewelry from her own collection. She looks great and fits the brand to a T, but ends up in third place because of the accusations made by James and Napreychikov that Miley was “stealing their identity” when she hosted the 2015 VMAs in sequined and evil eye clad outfits “that she designed.”
Katy Perry is known for her outlandish costumes and over-the-top performances. Even though her music style doesn’t scream Di$count Univer$e, her fashion sense surely does. This music icon is always enlisting the weird and wild to fill her closet, so naturally Perry looks to the ladies of Di$count Univer$e. Perry wears the hell out of their appliquéd jumpsuit, and the green hair is a nice addition. All these factors add up to a number two finish for Perry.
And lastly, we have our winner! Ms. Unapologetic herself: Rihanna. Strutting in a body con maxi-dress Rihanna is the epitome of “Fresh Off the Runway”. Rihanna has been in the fashion spotlight for years, first for her personal style and now for her own designs. This proves her authority in the fashion world. The dress fits her so well, it could have been painted on, and the “you will never own me” line that decorates this piece is suited for the bad gal’s personality. That is how you can tell that someone fits the clothes. Because fit isn’t just about size, it’s about personality too.
