Wendy Williams is Bidding Farewell to Her TV Show & Launching a New Podcast!

Wendy is starting a new career! The American broadcaster and writer has announced her “retirement” from her popular long-running talk show “The Wendy Williams Show”. The show came to an end earlier this month after broadcasting for 13 seasons. On Tuesday, June 28th, TMZ reported that the 57-year-old host will be producing and hosting her very own podcast!

“When you’re famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing the Wendy Williams Show.”

In the very transparent exclusive interview with TMZ Live, Wendy Williams shared a few things about her health and plans for her show. In the interview, she revealed she can only feel five percent of her foot. This is due to lymphedema, caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system. During the conversation, she showed her foot to the camera and talked about how large and swollen it is.

Wendy’s representative, Will Selby will be serving as executive producer for Wendy’s new venture. He confirmed that she has had conversations with some of her favorite music stars including Snoop Dogg, and Fat Joe, about making guest appearances. Both Snoop Dogg and Fat Joe have appeared on The Wendy Williams Show. Fat Joe also filled in as a co-host at one point. Selby added that the four-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee has also spoken to a member of the Trump family. Although no further information was disclosed about that, Ivanka Trump joined Wendy for an appearance on her show in 2011.

It is reported that all plans are still in the early stages. According to Selby, Wendy has not decided if she will release her podcast independently or in partnership with a platform such as Apple or Spotify. He also said that there is no timetable set for the release of the podcast. However, the broadcaster plans to create a podcast that will provide her fans with a true ‘Wendy’ experience – highlighting her favorite artists, celebrities, food, and fashion.

It’s reported that Wendy remains open to making appearances on talk shows and reality series. These include The View and The Real Housewives franchise. The Wendy Show ran for 13-seasons and was one of the most popular shows on daytime television. Do you miss it? Will you be tuned into her podcast? Let us know!
