It is no secret that water is essential to life. It is the source of hydration for animals, humans, and plants. Without proper hydration, our bodies can suffer, and internal and physical issues can wreak havoc on our well-being. Everyone has busy lives and many responsibilities, which causes hydration to be at the bottom of the to-do list. Don’t wait until you see signs of dehydration; increase your water intake now!

Fitting water into your schedule can be easier said than done. Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water daily can be grueling if you have a full plate at work. Not to mention, busy weekends full of errands can make water consumption a low priority. However, delaying your water intake is dangerous for your health. If you’re ready to change your water consumption, you’re in luck. Here are five easy ways to increase your water intake.

It can be daunting to see the recommended amount of water the average person should have. After all, 128 ounces of water daily sounds terrifying. If you struggle with drinking your daily recommended servings of water, try purchasing smaller water bottles to drink throughout the day.

2. Glass bottles

Climate change is a growing concern, and everyone must do their part. However, water intake can be challenging if you are concerned about throwing away plastic water bottles. Try to increase your water intake with glass water bottles. Not only do they keep your water cool for longer, but they do less harm to the environment. Additionally, the glass water bottles can be repurposed.

3. Sparkling water

If soda is your drink of choice most days, there are many healthy alternatives. Consider sparkling water the next time you are in the beverage aisle. Per Healthline, sparkling water contains “water infused with carbon dioxide gas (carbonation) and some salt” that produces a bubbly taste.

If you prefer a sweet water taste, there’s no need to shy away from sparking water. Add flavor packets or syrups to satisfy your sweet-meets-bubbly fix. As a result, you can solve your craving while being healthy and increasing your water intake.

4. Fruit

A little something sweet always makes most things taste better! Struggling with the taste of water is sure to keep your water intake down. Luckily, fruit is an easy fix. Cut up your favorite fruits, such as lemons, limes, grapes, or apples. Add the fruits to a bottle of your spring water. Adding fruit to your water can help increase your water intake and complement a healthy lifestyle

5. Drink water at dinner

A great way to consume more water is to drink water at dinner. Whether you’re cooking at home or joining friends for dinner, end your day with a glass of water. If you are eating out and are not a tap water fan, bring a bottle of water with you to ensure you get the best-tasting water possible.

Drinking lots of water is necessary, but it doesn’t have to be hard! Try these options and see what works best for you. Also, consider setting a schedule or setting a few alarms throughout the day to remind you to finish the water bottle you started in the morning.
