USHER’S VEGAS SWEET SERENADE LEAVES ISSA RAY MELTING

Usher’s much anticipated Las Vegas residency show took place at Park MGM on Oct. 15th, and in the front row was Issa Ray. Issa received a heart-stopping and body-pulsating serenade from Usher as he sang his 2004 hit song “Superstar” to her. A very fitting song choice for the Golden Globe-nominated actor and producer.

In a video clip which was first shared by Usher on his Instagram feed, Issa can be seen beaming with a twinkle on her face. She smiles and blushes at Usher as he sings “Superstar” vocals softly to her. Ray was obviously not going to let a good serenade go to waste. She held hands and danced along with him for a good minute. Just as she thought he was done, he seemingly had only just gotten started. Usher then took it upon himself to ask Miss Issa to the stage so he could sing more songs to her, and yes, you guessed right, she went along for the ride, because who wouldn’t?

The video footage, which quickly went viral, was captioned “@issarae in the building!! #UsherMyWay 🍫 All Love.” Soon after, the “Rap Sh!t” creator reposted the video on her own Instagram Story, simply writing, “Show was amazing.” This left a wake of envious fans going off the charts over the serenade. “Since me and Issa Rae kind of look alike, imma pretend that video of Usher singing to her is me.” One Twitter user wrote. Another user added-“Those Issa Rae Usher posts make me want to get on the 1st plane to Vegas.”

Despite everyone knowing their lives, some couldn’t help matching the two. However, it’s no secret that Issa Ray is happily married to her longtime partner, Louis Diame. Usher welcomed his second child with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea—his fourth child overall—in October 2021.

Usher, who turned 44 on Oct. 14th, also received a lovely surprise from the legendary artist Anita Baker on his birthday. This created quite an unforgettable day for Mr. Raymond. The Grammy-winning singer has continuously pulled out all the stops at his shows, bringing other musical stars like Snoop Dogg, Tevin Campbell, and Chris Brown on stage to perform with him. In the past, Usher has serenaded other female stars such as Tiffany Hadish and Taraji P. Henson. The Usher: My Way Residency kicked off on July 15th. He recently extended the tour to include more concerts from March through July 2023.
