While on the Breakfast Club Trey Songz spoke about his new album and his part in the Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma beef.
But what was shocking is the R&B singer’s relationship and connection to Hip Hop heavy weight Drake.
While Drake had interest in being signed by Songz it wasn’t the perfect time according to the singer. Songz stated, “Drake wouldn’t be Drake if we made that decision. Drake wanted to sign to me at a time when I wasn’t even Trey Songz yet.” Songz continued to say, “At that time I felt like me and my label weren’t even in a good place where they believed in my potential, and I took Drake to many executives and a lot of people said no.”
Although the Canadian native is now signed to Young Money Entertainment (YMCMB). The two musicians have since collaborated on a few songs Successful, Give Ya, Missing You and more.
Songz recently performed on stage at Drake’s concert in London.
“Just to see him become who he is…is dope,” said Songz.
