Tracee Ellis Ross’ Historic Golden Globes Win

Tracee Ellis Ross made history at the 2017 Golden Globes!

Becoming the first black woman in over 30 years to win an award for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical. In an amazing category that included nominations such as  Issa Rae, Gina Rodriguez, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Rachel Bloom, Tracee won the globe for her role in Blackish.

The first black woman to win a Golden Globe in the same category was Debbie Allen for Fame in 1983. Tracee Ellis Ross is following in the footsteps of her famous mom, Diana Ross, who also won a golden globe in 1973.

We couldn’t be any prouder of Ms. Ross! Her beauty and pose at the Golden Globes didn’t go unnoticed either. She shined like the star she is in her form-fitting Zuhair Murad Gown. However, maybe that was all over shadowed by her amazing and quirky speech!

Watch her inspiring acceptance speech:

Tracee, Thank you for all that you accomplished! 2017 will be your year!
