Tory Lanez Was Found Guilty on All Counts in the Shooting of Megan Thee Stallion

After a whirlwind trial full of back and forths, emotional statements, and confusing testimonies, Tory Lanez has been found guilty on all counts in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. The counts include assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He faces over 20 years in prison and could also be deported.

With the verdict of this trial resulting in justice for Megan Thee Stallion after two years of criticism, nasty jokes on the internet, and doubters, this is no doubt a relief for the rapper. Throughout this trial and since Megan announced that Lanez shot her, the Hot Girl Coach has received a multitude of verbal abuse, mainly from men in the industry, including Joe Budden, 50 Cent, and Drake. This has been a tale of misogynistic behavior and how Black women in hip-hop or in general are punished for revealing their trauma instead of being uplifted.

Lanez’s sentencing is set for Jan. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
