The season finale of Euphoria has finally arrived. Season two of Euphoria definitely proved to be more intense than the last with shocking moments in every episode. Here is our recap of the top 10 moments that defined the season.

10. Fez fighting Nate
Euphoria season two kickstarted off with an epic season premiere “Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door”. This episode gave fans Fez’s (Angus Cloud) long awaited backstory. As well as an iconic beat down between Fez and Nate (Jacob Elordi) that will never be forgotten.
9. Kat breaking up with Ethan
Kat’s (Barbie Ferreira) storyline this season revolved mostly around how unhappy she was in her relationship with Ethan (Austin Abrams). She even went as far as to fake a brain disorder in order to break up with him. Despite their separation, Kat still showed up to support Ethan in Lexi’s play.
8. Fexi
One of the highlights of season two was the unexpected pairing of Fez and Lexi (Madue Apatow). The relationship between Fez and Lexi gave fans a closer understanding of the two characters and how similar they are. Fez and Lexi are two characters who often get overlooked by the people in their lives and we see the two develop a bond because of this. The pair share sweet moments throughout the season, getting closer and closer to each other. In a rare emboldened moment, Lexi invites Fez to the premiere of her play. However, Fez is stopped from attending the play when the police raid his house.
7. Cal Coming Out
A major focus this season on Euphoria was Nate’s dad, Cal (Eric Dane) dealing with his repressed homosexuality. This season fans learned more about Cal as we got to see his backstory – how he was in love with his best friend in high school, but couldn’t be with him due to Nate’s mom getting pregnant with his older brother. As a result, Cal grew to resent his family, particularly Nate. Cal comes out to his family in episode 4 “You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can”. The season ends with Nate confronting his dad about the trauma his sex tapes had on him as a child and calling the police on his dad.
6. Lexi’s Play
Euphoria had been building up to Lexi’s play all season long and needless to say it did not disappoint. Lexi’s play took place during episode 7 “The Theater and Its Double” and continued on into episode 8 “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name”. Lexi’s play titled “Our Life” focused on the main group and their relationships with doppelgängers playing the real friend group.
5. Maddy finding out about Nate and Cassie
This season Euphoria kept fans on edge about when Maddy would find out about Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate’s secret hookups. The careless pair were almost busted quite a few times, even by Maddy (Alexa Demie) in the first episode. It wasn’t until episode 5 “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird” that Rue (Zendaya) spilled the beans to Maddy.
4. Maddy fighting Cassie
When Maddy found out that Cassie had secretly been hooking up with Nate behind her back all season, while she was trying to get back together with him, she was furious. Fans had been waiting for the long-awaited fight between Cassie and Maddy. After various threats and multiple scenes cutting away from the drama, fans finally got their wish during the season finale of Lexi’s play.
3. Cassie and Nate
Season two of Euphoria started off with a surprise none of us saw coming. Cassie and Nate hook up in the season premiere behind Maddy’s back and continue to do so for the rest of the season. It comes as a shock to all of us because Cassie is Maddy’s best friend while Nate was good friends with Cassie’s ex-boyfriend McKay (Algee Smith). Cassie and Nate go on a wild journey this season from hiding their relationship, Cassie’s mental breakdowns, to the couple even living together. The season finale ends with Nate breaking up with Cassie as a result of Lexi’s play.
2. Rue’s rock bottom
Season two of Euphoria focused on showing us Rue’s descent towards rock bottom as a result of her drug addiction. Rue gets involved in the drug dealing business which opens her up to doing harder drugs. After being snitched on by Jules (Hunter Schafer) and Elliot (Dominic Fike) to her mom, Rue runs away and begins going through withdrawals. Eventually, Rue comes to her senses and returns home. The season ends with Rue and Jules deciding not to get back together after breaking up earlier in the season and Rue working on her sobriety.
1. Ashtray’s Death
The biggest shock of this season has to be Ashtray ( Javon Walton) dying in the season finale “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name”. After one of Fez and Ashtray’s partners turns out to be a snitch working for the police, Ashtray kills him. This leaves Fez and Ashtray in a sticky situation as the police are on their way to raid the house. Fez tries to protect Ashtray by taking the blame but Ashtray locks himself in the bathroom and refuses to go down without a fight, continuing to fire bullets at the police while Fez surrenders. Ultimately, Ashtray meets his fate when he is killed by one of the police officers.
