Tiffany Haddish is Hollywood’s gift that keeps on giving. After her success on the big screen with Girls Trip, the actress is about to conquer Netflix. Haddish will play lead-role Tuca, in upcoming adult comedy series: Tuca and Bertie.
With the success of their previous animated shows, Netflix bets on Tuca and Bertie to win over viewers. The duo between Haddish and the creators of BoJack Horseman is sure to score high ratings. Producer, Lisa Hanawalt, often addresses social taboos and makes political statements with her satiric style. Similarly, Haddish’s comedic approach allows her to touch on the most controversial topics. While BoJack Horseman seems more cynical, Tuca and Bertie will likely meet the same acclaim as its predecessor.
The 10 episodes of Tuca and Bertie will introduce to viewers the adventures of “two 30-year-old bird-women who live in the same apartment building”. Tiffany Haddish will voice Tuca, a nonchalant and conceited Tucan. The role for Bertie, a “daydreaming” and uneasy songbird, is still unknown.
The show is still in the works. While Netflix configures a release date, Tiffany Haddish’s performance is greatly anticipated.
