Tidal has a New CEO, Their Fourth in Over Two Years

Tidal
Reports states, Kobalt Music Group president, Richard Sanders has been dubbed the new CEO of Tidal. He will be the fourth person in just over two years that will hold the CEO position in Jay-Z’s  music streaming service.

Jeff Toig was the CEO of Tidal earlier this year. Leaving after Sprint purchased a 33 percent stake in the company. Since the companies launching it has never been able to wage the paid subscriber gap on it’s competitors Apple Music and Spotify. Sanders has served as president of global marketing for Sony Music and executive for RCA and Arista Records, in addition to his most recent job at Kobalt.

If Tidal wants to be successful, they need to allow someone to run the company more than a few months. Riding off of the succession of Jay-Z 4:44 album can only last for so long. Hopefully Sanders, can bring a new vision to the music streaming service that will right the wrongs of previous CEOs. We can only keep our fingers crossed that Tidal figure this out not only for Sanders employment status but because we are all rooting for Jay-Z success!

What do you think of Tidal’s new move? Do you think that will help increase paid subscribers?
