However, Twitter is now quite disappointed with Mario after learning that he featured Tory Lanez on an upcoming track titled “Main One”. Mario’s #MARIOMONDAYS post caused his Verzuz glory to come to a halt when he announced the aforementioned “Main One”. He was apparently pretty excited about featuring the controversial Tory Lanez. Mario tweeted:
“#MARIOMONDAY special announcement! This Friday dropping new music! This one is called “MAIN ONE”! S/O to my bro @torylanez! We went crazy tap in!”
The controversy is over the fact that Mario featured and gave a platform to Tory Lanez, who is extremely persona non grata in the industry. Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in a fit of assumed short man rage. Twitter went in a buzz after Mario’s announcement, with folks asking him if he didn’t read the room.
Mario must’ve either been living under a rock or his publicity team really decided to take a nap during this collaboration because how else would he not know about the ongoing case between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory? The 35-year-old might now lose multiple gigs which he could’ve easily acquired using his Verzuz winning ticket.
